Mike,
If I were making the trip from your home port, I would go Solomans, then Tangier (cause its inexpensive to tie up and puts you in range of all of the lower Bay).Next day sail over to Fleets Bay (the area between Windmill Pt and the Great Yicomico). There are several very nice anchorages here; best of which IMHO is behind "Grogg Island". Nice, sheltered, deeep water anchorage, w/ beach to dingy over to.Then go up the Rapppahannock, under the bridge, and into Carters Creek. Anchor behind Tides Inn. Your wife will love Tides Inn... eligant old Va. resort (bring a Jacket to go to dinner). Then over to Urbanna for lunch the next day... then back down the river to Deltaville for a night or 2... Call Norton's Yacht Sales... they will be glad you see u and your 376... If you need any parts, equip. filters, advice etc. they are the place... May even help u w/ a ride to a restraunt, etc. Then come down to Mobjack Bay and anchor up the East River... very nice... From there you may want to sail down to Norfolk (4-5 hrs). Sail past the Navel Base and down the Eliz. River to Waterside. After a day or 2, head back up to Cape Charles (~6hrs). Call Charles Thain proprietor of the Eastville Inn and he will send a car for u for dinner... excellent...Then Christfield, and back North.Read "Cruising Guide to Ches. Bay"... for more excellent info on all of these places....Have a nice crise...
