Ughh...I bought an Oday 23 in May 2008 and had the same process. It came with a rickety single axle trailer that I paid $600 to a mobile trailer repairman to make "road ready." At that point, it got new springs, bearings, etc. It still had a wooden set of rails that formed to the boat.
It did make it 45 minutes to my home lake. After that, the wooden rails were done.
I searched for a new trailer on craigslist, ebay, etc. I never could find a "good deal."
There is a guy in Texas you makes "economical" sailboat trailers.

I spoke to him in 2008 and I think he was quoting $2000 to $2500 for a painted trailer. No bells & whistles.
My Oday has been moored in my home lake for 2 years now and my single axle lawn ornament is sitting in my inlaws lake house backyard! I'm thinking about getting the single axle POS fixed!!
