Is taught to USNavy as a rescue knot for Self rescue from a tossed line, but with this variation.properly tied bowline
Not in your "Mummy" outfit. The knot would cut me in two.
Spanish Handcuffs.Which knot is your go to knot when you want a stable, secure hold? ...
That's interesting. I've been using a "thrown" clove hitch in that situation. I think that I like your knot better. This one is my favorite for a temporary Mid ship cleat tie up for provisions.
Quick on and easy release.

Jim...
That is my Fender Tie knot, but most don't know how to adjust it.clove hitch
True.If the issue with the bowline is the tag end being inside the loop, then you can just tie it backwards, with the tag end on the outside. It holds just as well either way.
Yes. I don't tie it facing the sail. Years ago I had a practice line and tied like a thousand of them. I don't have to think about it since then but I like to start the same way. Since I want the tail to end up facing away from the shrouds I have to reverse the Starboard side. That' a challenge for the lexdysia inflicted.... I always have to have the jib clew tucked under my arm and am facing away from the sail when I tie it or it ends up being done "backwards."
