my catalina 27 has #85 on the name plate,is that the year.thanks Alan

go to the cat 27 website for an explanation of how the serial numbers work. My recollection is that the last two digit are the year.... but check the site to make sure. You could also look on your boat registration certificate. All that info is on there especially the serial number, it's like a VIN number on a car except they call it an HIN for hull i.d. number.
