Re: fresh water tank vent.
Any cruiser will say to vent the tanks inside.
"Any cruiser will say to vent the tanks inside".... this means anyone who has spent any time out there during a spell of rough weather and knows what happens.... not necessarily the fair weather "cruisers", as most boaters are.

If the boat had CNG instead of propane then the vent could have been for that. CNG regulators have an over board vent for the situation where the tank goes over max working pressure so the boat does not fill with gas. The plumbing is scuba tank, regulator hose to vent and hose to supply the appliances off the regulator.

Bill, the vent is on the wrong side of the boat for that, the galley is on the starboard side, vent is port side. The setup you describe is what we had on the IP, that and an electric solenoid that controlled the propane in the dedicated locker which was within feet of the galley stove and vented overboard.
This Hunter is still a learning experience for me. I need to get into the locker under the stove and see exactly what the setup is currently. Sure wish I knew a little more about Butane as well. The stove uses canisters that appear to be the same as those used on Butane camp stoves. I also see something similar used on the cooking shows when the chef is outdoors, it is a single burner with an area for the butane and a control. Ours has one electric and one butane burner........neither have ever been used.

Our O'Day 272 has a vent installed next to the forward battery. This vents the starboard locker space into the boat...not outside. Pat
