I told you that after I talked to the involved parties and gave them a chance to do the right thing I would get back to you with the results.

I also stated that there was no need to name names at the time. Well it is not only time to name names.... but to anounce them loud and clear.

The supplier of the bracket was Marine Trading Post, in Ft. Myers and Naples, Fl. The owner is Joe Kellermann and he talked to the distributor and received positive feedback as to replacing the bracket and my cowling .

I had already ordered a replacment cowling and Joe ordered me the Garelick for a four stroke engine and I am back in the water this weekend.

The bracket that broke was a Garelick "look alike" and well built with the exception of the bad injection molding on the polyboard. But Joe replaced it with the heavy duty Garelick #71090 rated for 169 lbs which sells at about 100.00 more for no additional cost to me.

I have been assured that the check is in the mail for the reinburstment of the cost of my cowling.

Up until the middle of today....I was a very happy camper. Look for the post titled " Keel Goes Bye Bye" in the Macgregor Fourms for the further adventures of "Papillon".

Mike, I always make a trip to the Marine Traders in Ft Myers whenever I visit my mother there. It's a good place for that little odd piece of whatever I didn't know I needed. I hope to get her down to St George and the Dragon in Naples and can stop at the M.T. there. I'm glad it worked out positive for you.

They are just down the street and around the corner from St. George's. Stop there first while you still have enough money to buy boat stuff. You can always wash dishes for your meal.
Good Food....Well worth the price.
