I need to replace the muffler on my 1990 H30. There are lots of posts regarding older H30s, but can't find any on the 88-94 model. There is not much clearance under the aft bunk. The exhaust hose goes straight to the hull exhaust portal through an in-line muffler. Seems like it should rise above the water line first before exiting, but the aft cabin prevents this.

Anybody dealt with this?

Check out Vetus or Centek mufflers. You should be able to find something between them. You can also give Hunter Marine an email blast and ask them what they originally used. They are usually of help on these older boats.

I had Centek build me an exact fiberglass match to the original. If you don't have room for a waterlift that leaves you about the only choice. But a relatively level shot from the engine's mixing elbow through the muffler and out is cause for some concern. My own exhaust hose goes from the elbow to the bottom of the pan and then loops up to the cockpit sole and back down to the muffler. Sounds like you don't have room. Price of having a nice aft cabin I guess. :)

I have a replacement muffler for a Hunter 30 if you are interested. It is an inline muffler made of fiberglass so it cant rust away. Let me know if you are interested.
