I have a Catalina 28MKII 1995, have been having trouble with the motor dying with no warning. It would start and run fine for as much as two hours and would die like it was starving for fuel. It would continue to start but would die at low speed. Eventually, it would run ok like there was never a problem. Right now I have no confidence in the motor. Please advise anyone who has experienced this problem.

Is it an M25 diesel engine?

Diesels need two things to run: air & diesel fuel.

Assuming you have enough air (!), then you need to examine your fuel system. Remove the pickup screen at the end of the hose inside the tank. Check and/or replace your filters. Check the fuel lines.
