Checking to see if anyone has experience with the installation of a Forespar "Motor Mate" on a 310. http://www.forespar.com/catalog/hoist/motormate.htm Thank you

outboard

I looked into buying one and called the company to see if it would fit the boat and he said yes. I changed my mind. What I do is tie the dingy for and aft to the stern and my wife hands me our 3.5 hp. If our engine was a 5hp I would need the lift.

Try Garhauer

C&C The Garhauer dinghy motor davit is superior in block and tackle (6:1) and much sturdier. It's also the LEAST expensive and best made. www.garhauer.com Stu

thanks

Thanks Stu and Roger for the helpful advice...motor is a new 9.8 4-stroke and about 80lbs so we need the lift. Garhauer looks like a good bet and they are local. Chris and Cynth

Lifting an outboard

To raise or lower an outboard on a dinghy, what's wrong with attaching a block and tackle to the end of the boom?

Love my Garhauer!

May be the best $200 I've spent on the boat!
