Fresh water moorage, but I have to travel the ship canal two miles and raise two bridges to get to 20 mile long Lake Washington. Or go the other way about the same distance plus transiting the ballard (Hiram Chittenden) locks, to get to Puget Sound. $220 for 30 ft. per month. No extras, ($15 for electricity) but a very caring facility that will watch out for my boat when I'm not there. $7 per foot is about the high average in the central Seattle area. I still prefer fresh water moorage for its kindness to equipment. Moorage availability is a little tight, but can be had if needed.

I pay $178/mo. for a well protected 45 ft. slip w/elec. & water. Restrooms, showers, nice pool and nice grounds are all within a 500 foot walk. Galveston Bay is about 1 mile away and the Gulf is about a 25 mile sail. It seems the top-end for this area is about $250 for floating slips in the 45 ft. range in the nicest and newest harbors.

A lot more than the $40 the permit costs

Right now half the town would have to die before a mooring permit opened up anywhere decent. It would be 45 bucks a year for the permit. As it is this year mooring rental and launch service cost for our C25 is over 1200 bucks for May-15 through October-15. We are on a waiting list for a slip that will set us back 2500 ($100 bucks a foot) for the season but at least we'll have power and water, and other facilities we don't have out in the middle of the bay. That is if a slip even opens up.

We pay by the season, and Bob takes care of that bill, but I think it's around $3,000 for the summer. Depending on the weather (how long we can keep the boat in the water!), that makes it between $500-$600 per month. We have a 40-foot dock for our C-42, and if I'm doing my math correctly, that's roughly $13-15 per foot, again depending on how long we're in. That includes shower facilities, electric, water, and pump out. They have a chandlery on-site, and well-trained yard employees. Since we have Great Escape III in our marina's charter fleet, we obviously have fewer choices, but if I remember correctly from our early investigations, the price is pretty typical for Ohio's central North Coast.
