Can anyone recommend a place or craftsman to go to, to replace my missing tiller arm for a Hunter 25' 1976. Any advice appreciated. Thanks,Mark Crociati
Go to Ebay.com and search "Tiller" There's aguy in MO I dealt with; has good deals. You donot have to use ebay; he has a website which will be in the listing.
Mark:The best source for tillers is H & L Marine in Rancho Domiquez, CA. I do not have their phone number, but you should be able to search the archives for it. These are high quality units (laminated). You also will want to get a cover for the tiller so it stays in good condition....and it will not cost an arm or a leg.
Item # 2452629809 Guy is actually in Tulsa,(gee that's in Mo isn't it?) his ebay name isninjasforhire and the store is "Buy From This Guy Yachting" I think these 4foot tillers areall about the same would be curios to know if you get a better deal.
I heard so many stories about breakage of tillers, that I decided to carry a spare. Quite by accident I was in a True Value Hardware and noticed a adze (sp??)handle. It is similar to an axe except the blade is crossways. It even looked like a tiller, but was slightly smaller. I drilled the two mounting holes and now it is stored on my MAC 23.
