Why did you buy one with a galley? Get a real race boat.I bought my boat new 11 years ago, has a galley stove that has never seen gas, and a microwave that probably still has some of the original packaging inside it. Boat is for sailing not for cooking.
Good question. Basically pretty much done with racing and this was an attempt to appease the war department. She spent a lot of time off the water when I was actively racing. Then we bought the place on the water too.Why did you buy one with a galley? Get a real race boat.
Never had a problem w/our microwave operating on our modified sine wave inverter.Make sure you have a sine wave inverter. Yup, I use it, mostly in the winter for left overs. Fewer pots to clean, which can matter.
I have an Emmerson ice maker on the counter, I use bungee cords to tie it down.I have one on the counter, left over from the PO live aboard. How do you tie it down so it's not a missle when your sailing?
Here's how PO installed one in my H 34I see many boats with microwave ovens. Do you use yours enough to keep it onboard. Have sailed since 1979 without one, but am upgrading my galley on hunter 34, 1984 model. What do you think?
Looks secure. Do the metal braces have screws into the oven sides? I've always been concerned with puncturing the metal shell of the oven. I understand that is what keeps the microwave radiation inside the boxHere's how PO installed one in my H 34View attachment 126414 View attachment 126414
