Swept Away
I've noticed that all the new boats have mattresses in the cabins, forward and aft. We are live aboards in the summer and love the idea of a mattress. Because we live on the great lakes, our water temperature varies dramatically. When the water is cold we run our heater. This causes a great deal of condensation. In the fall the inverse (water warm air cool) creates the same condensation. We have found that the vinyl on the bottom of the cushions is very functional. We use chlorinated disinfectants to control the naturally ocurring mold and mildew. The cabin mattresses have cloth fabric both sides, how do you control the mold and mildew?
