deck plug

First, access to current wiring within the ceiling is not easy and you have to know how and where to run additional wiring. If replacing the deck receptacle, it is difficult to find the three wire connection anymore as you will find a four. Remember the big plug is for negative and the others for positive.
I have a new 3 prong deck connector bought at the store here . I think I just need to replace the male end that is attached to the mast because I get good reading from the female deck plug . Not trying to hi jack a thread , just thought this might add something to the discussion about the deck plug , Thanks Mike

Re: deck plug

Regular Guy, Thanks for the note about the starboard winch area! I failed to mention I have 3 sections of fiberglass wire pulling rod: forward from under the access panel under the starboard winch, aft from the compression post, up and forward from the electrical panel. They all get stuck at the same place. I left them in for the weekend, waiting for a miracle to happen if I go back and try again.

MMSailor, Great for me (and others) to know 3-prong are still available. I have my 5-conductor deck fitting purchased and 5-wire run in the mast (future deck light... or whatever). I could salvage the old one fine and just run existing wires in the cabin overhead as a Plan B or C. Thank you again.
