Mast Step

Does anyone know what type of bolts hold the mast step in place on a newer Catalina 30? I have a 1996 MkIII and would like to remove the mast step and place a stainless steel plate underneath to attach some turning blocks at the base of the mast. Are they lag bolts, or are they threaded into a nut buried in the deck core? Thanks in advance,DaveS/V Westwind

They are 3/8 by 2 s/s lag bolts
