It looks like that boat that fell over on the stands has loose lines coming from the canvas. Me thinks he did the main yard no no which is tie the canvas to the stands. We used to walk the yard and cut them as soon as we saw them. That little trick in a wind storm will pull any stand from the boat

The lines were not attached to the stands. I know better than that. The cover tore when it blew over and the lines became slack. The primary problem was the single block under the keel. This allowed the boat to rock back and forth as it was buffeted by 40+ knt winds for several hours. Secondary causes were the windage from the large cover, the method of securing the jack stands (chained at the top), and finally the position in the yard. It was located near a barn, the wind was gusting and bouncing off the building amplifying the windage issue.
