If your mast is pumping frount and back your back stays may be to tight for your side stays or if your mast i s raked to the frount (very bad) this could start the mast pumpig .If it feels like you are rideing a horse on smooth water then you mite have a deck or mast step problem. look at the stays wial tacking and if the stays shake in the wind on the leward side you need to tighten the top stays.I use a small wrech to turn the buckels .with a small wrench you will no your geting tight becouse the turn buckels will get real hard to turn in a1/4 turn or so.Your leward stay should just go a little slack in 16 kts wind If you call catalina and ask for nora in CS she faxed me a buch of papers on rigginng Good stuff John
