Anyone seen a mast base like this? It is on my new to me 99 260. Also no hole in the mast to put the mast raising pole.
Can’t figure it out.

My H240 has a similar mast step with no hole in the mast. Your mast raising pole should have a long clevis pin inserted through holes drilled near the bottom. The base of the pole attaches to the two vertical tabs on the front of the mast step, and the pin acts like a hinge as the mast comes up. Start with the pole a little aft of vertical and it will rotate down as the mast is raised.

A thousand thanks for your reply. The base of my pole does have a hole in it. I was initially skeptical about it because I thought it would be in the way when when the plate swings down. I’ll give it a try. Thankyou very much! I can relax now.
