It didn't take long for Question #2. I'm intersted in ideas to modify the mainsheet. As it is right now the mainsheet is led through a clam cleat on the cabin top and then into the cockpit. It really doesn't seem to work all that well, the line is never in the cleatand it is difficult to lock in singlehanded so I'm holding on to maintain trim. Any ideas would be appreciated. David

Main sheet control

Try a newer model rope clutch. They allow the line to be pulled thru. Biggest drawback is that if you need to free the main in a hurry you can't just pull up from wherever you are. You need to release the clutch lever. May be a safety issue. Are you sure there isn't something wrong with the cam cleat? Mine had an internal sprong go bad and it took some effort to keep it place before replacing the spring.

Thanks John

Thanks John, That was in line with what I was thinking but didn't know if others made modifications that worked well. I've seen a type of line clutch that works similar to a cam cleat. The line passes through but to ease the sheet you just pull up and it will release. Thanks again

David, The cam cleat you mentioned sure seems like a better modification than a clutch which takes much more time and effort to release. Chuck
