I'm in the process of replacing my blown out main on my 1981 H33. I've been shopping around the net and I'm getting all kinds of quotes for all kinds of sails. I've decided that I first need to decide on the weight of the cloth. I've been told by one loft that 6.9 oz is the best and another said that 8 oz is best. I'm a cruiser who MIGHT race once a year but performance is still important to me. What's more important is the quality and durability of the sail (these things aint cheap). I'm guessing the 8oz is too heavy and the 6.9 is too light (I have a tendency to sail in 15kts + regularly). Any suggestions appreciated, also, your thoughts on fully battened vs. conventional battens for a cruiser.
