I purchased a 1977 Catalina 27 in the spring. I had to replace the starboard side stay panel. This is the 1/2" mahogany plywood panel that separates the head from the dinette, and supports the center side stay. It was rotted under the stainless bolts and I could push my fingers through. I have seen this in other 27's. When the boat was built the finishers neglected the inside of the closet. :naughty:
