ok, so I saw this and read main 'sheet' instead. When I bought my boat it had 7/16 halyards for both main and jib. Original equip. was wire halyards so the sheaves were far to small for such large line. Ii have since replaced both with 5/16 Warpspeed which works very well for wire halyard replacement. Far less friction and chafe in the system as a result. The main halyard is sometimes up-sized for comfort because it is handled so much. It is the same size as on my Pearson 32.
Rig-Rite is great. Have replaced a few parts using them. Thanks for all the replys. I went with the 7/16 because its easier for me to grip, but it turns out after some research I could have used a few different lines for a halyard. I don't know if you all know but there is a company named Rig-Rite that carries spars and hardware for Pearsons. Thanks again!
Hope everyone has a great season!
