Mac 25 mainsail woes or ok

Looking at it closer, I can definitely see the stitching needed to come out. I’ll give it a go.

Easier than I thought. Once I got the stitching out, I grabbed 4’ up the luff and pulled, the bolt rope moved over 3 inches. I’d say it was shrunk. I won’t know how much it will move until I hoist it. I’m thinking I should take a needle and thread when we go out. I’ll put a few stitches back in to prevent further movement.

I would imagine this weakens the sail and allows for a bit more time to replace it?

You'll want to have the tension on the bolt rope, not the sail cloth, when hoisted so don't sew it in too loose either. the rope protects the sail cloth. :thumbup:
