I see Westmarine has a product that you dump down into the head to lubricate the gaskets. to the tune of $10.99. My ?? is, does it work and is there anything I can use thats more of a home remedy. My problem is when I leave for a week or so my Jacsco looses prime and I need to remove the feed line at the vent and prime it.

Mineral oil or for long lasting lubrication, take the plunger out at the beginning of the season and use a teflon grease. That should buy you a whole season. In a pinch a cooking oil (veg, olive) would work until you get something better. Avoid using the cooking oils though since they have a tendency to get sticky after a while, and stinky in the heat.

Do you think there may be a valve issue? Do you leave your intake seacock open when you leave the boat?

Do you just pour it in and pump it through and how much mineral oil do you use
