Irwin Citation 34' Annapolis
1- stuffing box. for Irwin 1981 34' Citation

a. Anyone know where the orig. nylon & locking nut were manufactured?

1. can anyone confirm the type of thread it looks very coarse to me?

b. Original parts are from the 1981 stuffing box & rudder post assembly:

Original parts were likely made from nylon

See attached photos for original parts of stuffing box still
installed in sailboat. I have not attempted to remove this part.

Also see old Irwin drawing attached; view lower right area.

OD dim. On large nut; face to face: 2.5"

ID dim. Of this same part: 1.75"

Thread looks to be relatively coarse.

Rudder shaft dim.: 1.25"

c.

d. I also need locking nut; the one w/ the vertical hole for cotter pin
etc.

e. Any know of current supplier?

All Ideas welcome

BUCK ALGONQUIN makes stuffing boxes for rudders and shafts--- gooodluck--you may have to change it out for simplicity.
