Catalina Catalina 27 Channel Islands
Hello Everyone,

Been boating for 56 years. I previously owned a Clipper Marine for a few years and just bought a 73 Catalina 27.

I'll get a picture later if this doesn't work.
On the stern, port side, is a metal plate that folds down and that hooks to a pump that's in the outboard compartment forward and left of the outboard.

There appears to be a handle that inserts into the socket (square) that you can use to rotate it which operates the pump.

What in the heck is that?????

Yup, we had a 74 with outboard well as our first boat. That is the bilge pump, ours just pumped out into the OB well if I recall. We had an automatic electric bilge pump also that would exit a thru hull on the port side.

Nice boat, built before they mandated a different formula for the layup, no blisters. Also a pretty thick hull. She was a great sailing boat in light winds.
