Location of refrigeration compressor unit

I have bought a new unit to replace my alderbarbour which died this year. I was wondering if anyone has installed the compressor unit otherthan the stock location under the helm seat? I was trying to free up this area for bulk storage, and wondered if any other locations are viable (under settee, beside hotwater tank, etc.)Thanks1988 Cat 30 SRWK #5429

mine is

mounted under the port lazerette but up towards the bulkhead by the galley. It's pretty much completely out of the way and ventilation doesn't seem to be a problem.Jim

Alternate location

My compressor is located under the aft bunk, in front of the fuel tank. There's a small wooden vent into the cabin to keep it running cool. Works great.
