Some people will put a layer of plastic over the epoxy before it cures to avoid amine blush. Plastic wrap, drop cloth, etc work well and lift off with ease. It's highly unlikely you will encounter blush with this job as it'll be done in one shot

I use peel ply. The amine blushes through it, and it leaves a toothed surface when you take it off.

Peel ply makes every glass job much easier and neater.

It's tabbing. You're overthinking it. Sand the area so the epoxy will have something to grip, paint on some epoxy to wet-out the surface, then wet-out some strips on a piece of plastic. Apply, spread-out and tap with a chip brush to make sure they're well adhered. Walk away. no need for multiple applications, no need to worry about blush. One application and done. If you really want to make a fillet first, go ahead. Then apply the strips directly over it. Let it all cure together and go sailing.

I think he finished the project a while ago. Most of the subsequent discussion was about fiberglass work in general, and his questions seemed to be general information seeking, rather than project-specific.
