Ralph, maybe you hung up your skates long ago I don’t know; but, I just can’t comprehend how a clever and sometimes cunning individual like yourself with a dash of mechanical aptitude thrown in cannot fabricate something like this out leftover material. You have an original to pattern off of (unless that one is gone too and you haven’t told us about it). Grab a set of calipers and piece of Al stock and go crazy. The Brits are probably taking the week (or maybe the rest of the month) off to celebrate their new King and then they will be backlogged with work. By the time they get around to answering your email it will be vacation time and your sailing season will be done. I have confidence in you. You can do it. I know you can. . . I think?

I am so pi$$ed off with the idea of spending $100.00 for a 10¢ clip, I'm considering ordering the one from Go2Marine just to see if it does fit. It looks exactly like the remaining clip I've got. If it doesn't fit, what have I lost ? I'm now paying $115.00 for a 10¢ clip :banghead:.
Can it get any worse ?

Hey Ralph. I can’t afford to take your son in as a graduate student. Thank God you taught him how to pay for his own education.
I was thinking that your clips might be possible 3-D printed objects. All you need is to get one of those low cost printers, match it up to a low cost computer, some marginally, efficient software, and a bit of studying, and you’d have the ability to print your own clips probably for maybe less than $.10.

:biggrin:always here to provide helpful information.
I did just get a 3D printer a week ago. (My son wanted one as a birthday present; that was a good excuse). I’m certainly no expert yet but it seems like it would be very printable if someone had the expertise to match the shape and the right material filament.

Perhaps Ralph will send you the remaining clip... Then you could image it and create a CNC 3D drawing for the printer. Plug it in... pop out a couple of clips... Your efforts should pay for themselves. From the texts above looks like Ralph has valued them at somewhere between $100 and $115 each.

Unfortunately that may be Canadian dollars. Your son will need to deal with international commerce and money exchanges. A learning experience.

You may be able to retire early on your 3D printer purchase to support your son's entrepreneurial interests. Put him through college like Ralph did with his son.

It is like a matchmakers dream.

I would get the clips and see what needed to be modified to get them to work. The clip should be fairly easy to fabricate. I little quality time with a dremel should do it.

my greatest fear is that the internal diameter of the clip will be too large on the new one I receive.

I have had a Jabsco 30573 Series Accumulator Tank for the past 4 years. It uses clips on the hoses. There has been no issues.

That's just what I need, stumbling around fearing I will find fear in addition to losing the stupid slide clip for my accumulator.

Another" just what I need". I don't know what "it" is. All I can see is to flush $100.00 down the toilet while Jabsco laughs all the way to the bank because I lost their stupid little 10¢ piece of plastic. It's all a conspiracy I tell you.

And there won't be, unless you snag the clip and your world also comes to an end.

What can you do ?

I went looking on the Jobsco Amazon page and found something interesting. On the Jobsco pumps, the clips are bright blue and captive so that they slide back and forth but cannot be removed. I then went to their accumulator, and it does not have the blue captive clips. It has loose black clips that look exactly like the Snap Port fittings that the rest of the industry uses. Were it me, I would gamble on the clips that John posted because from appearances, it looks like Jobsco does not make their own accumulator and just remarkets someone else's.

Ralph... You know I am :poke:.

My post
Provided a WM link that offered to sell you 2 clips for $16.99. It was a speedy search, I admit. If they are available at WM they may be available from other resources. The stated price is 5 times less than the cost of a replacement unit.
Feeling your need, I submit my second search for your bedeviled clip...
The irony is by the stroke of a keyboard the results is a 10 fold lower cost than your replacement $100 charge. I am limited to bring aid or solace.

I've seen those.

I've seen those as well. I feel 99% the same way you do. If I don't hear from Jabsco UK by mid next week (less than 1% chance of that) I will get the black slide clips. Obviously I do not frequently gamble but I will let you know if they fit.

You gave me the part number which, I had not been able to find. Couldn't come up with the correct words to describe the little %#$^@#*. So far I am down to :

Going to try it if I don't hear from Jabsco UK next week. It's a gamble but less than $100.00 plus shipping. The shipping will be more than the clips.

Ladies and gentlemen ! Step right up. Step right up and see the amazing tempest in a tea pot. You'll be razzled. You'll be dazzled. You'll be gob-smacked that anyone would waste so much time on something so trivial.

I wrote to Jabsco UK on Friday afternoon and asked them the part number of the slide clip for a Jabsco #30573-0000 accumulator. I received an answer early today :

The correct clip number is, wait for it, drum roll please, #330648-1000 , contrary to Go2Marine and Jabsco's omission in their literature.

The challenge now is to get this to Vancouver for less than $40.00 CAN including shipping. Ordering it from outside of Canada still leaves me open to an additional $50.00 customs brokerage fee if Canada Customs decrees the contents questionable.

So I can buy two slide clips for about one half the cost of a new Accumulator.
Big @#%$^%*ing Deal  !

A big thanks to everyone who contributed their thoughts and ideas on this and put up with my my nit picking and penny pinching on this Jabsco conspiracy to rip me off.

Time to get to work on something useful.
