I requested a quote from four sailmakers (Doyle included) and for the same material, same specs, same hardware, Doyle was more; not just a little more, CONSIDERABLY more. The sails were for my previous boat, an O'day 272LE. The price quoted by Doyle was three time higher than what I paid at another reputable loft; and before you say anything, it wasn't offshore. As a matter of fact, they came and measured and returned and ensured a proper fit. When I needed a quote for my new boat (Nonsuch 30 Classic) I inquired at the Newport boat show. Show price was more than double your competitor. As a matter of fact, the sail WITH Strong Track was still considerably less than just the sail that Doyle quoted.Neither Doyle quotes included a stackpack. Both were the same weight, and standard cruising sails...nothing high-tech here. Not trying to knock Doyle; I have friends who purchased Doyle and are quite happy. Nor am I trying to put anyone on the spot. But from hearing from friends in the two clubs I belong to and from e-mail exchanges from this forum, the question begs to be answered. I guess I'm the one to ask it.Cheers,BobNS30C #77LazybonesE. Greenwich, RI
