Greetings! I'm looking at a spinnaker pole on E-bay, does anyone know what the average size, ie length and diameter is appropriate for standard rig Catalina-28, I figured the "J" would be right for length but no one around here has the same boat, to judge diameter etc......

I'd suggest a 2 1/2 inch diameter pole set up for "end for end" jibes. "J" dimension is correct length. Remember you can always cut down a longer pole and remount the cap. Page 1069 of West Marine 2004 catalogue has a West Advisory article with general information on spinnaker controls.
