My C28 seems to have a permanent list to port of about 1 -1.5 degrees. This, even when all the starboard side tanks are topped up. I've noticed it with two others: is this a 'class problem', or is there some weight distribution thing I'm missing?

Mine leans too!!

Hi Mark....glad to here that the 270 is not the only Catalina to list. Everything on my boat is mounted to port, water, batts, domestic water, power amp for da tunes (my fault), PLUS i tie up to starboard, which mean i swing the boom to port in the slip. Oh well!! Doug

Me too!

Glad to know that I'm not the only one who has a slight list to port. When i top-off my fuel and water tanks on my cat 27 AND sit on the starboard side, the list dissappears. I just figure that it's a sail boat so it really doesn't matter. Maybe Catalina has an explaination.

Yes, Jack - I supose a boat in the hand would have to be preferable to what's coming out of your Bush!

Another C-28 that leans

My Catalina 28 leans to port as well. I agree with Doug - all the weight of batteries, etc is on the port side. Now that I've added a refrigeration unit I'll even have more weight to port. Does Catalina have a solution? I've heard of someone fiberglassing lead bars into the starboard lockers behind the starboard settee.I thought of removing the starboard water tank and moving my (4)6 volt batteries and starting battery under the starboard settee to help the weight distribution, plus using the rest of the space for storage of heavier items.
