Pedestal Guard Feet
I did this last month on my '82 C30.There's a lip inside the bottom of the Edson pedestal "feet" that prevents sliding them up the stainless legs of the guard.I removed the bolts holding both feet, and the screws that hold the legs to the feet, and lifted both legs simultaneously to get access to the undersides (so you have to rebed both feet, not just one). I used marine silicone (the feet are plastic, and silicone is used to rebed plastic to fiberglass, or plastic to stainless) to rebed around the feet (mask around the cockpit floor to help keep it neat), inside the hole that the wires pass through the floor, and around the stainless legs prior to inserting the legs into the feet, and then around the screw that holds the leg to the foot. Also "goop" up the through-bolts with silicone prior to inserting them and tightening the nuts (hand tight). Once the silicone has cured after a couple days, you can tighten the nuts further to compress the "silicone gasket" you've made (try not to turn the bolts though).Be generous with the silicon, maybe have a couple tubes on hand for this job, along with a roll of paper towels. The "old" feet are shown in one picture of the Edson catalog, available for viewing online. Edson has sells new modified feet for the guard, no longer through-bolted but have a threaded piece with large backing nut that fits completed through the deck. That is if you want to reroute the wires through the guard. Less likely to leak in the future, and no longer plastic but stainless.
