I am in the process of designing Lazy Jacks for my CAT27...10 ft. boom. After reviewing the latest "Mainsheet" I see a nice design for CAT27 Lazy Jacks (p.128). I notice that it has two secure points along the boom. Other designs I have seen have three. I need a bit of experience feedback. Do two boom secure points provide enough lateral stability, or does the sail fall out? I have full battens. Does anyone have another design that they have found works? Thanks for your views...DAVE

I installed lazy jacks about 3 yrs ago on my Cat 30 TRBS. I too have full battens and found that 2 points on the boom worked fine. The main doesn't fake itself but it doesn't fall out.

Richard, have a question

Richard, I noted that you have a Cat 30 TRBS. Same here. Hull # 593. I am going to install lazy jacks this spring. My question is..where on the mast did you install the blocks (what type/design) on the mast? I have read where sometimes it is right below the spreaders and others fasten to the spreader itself. What has been your experience? Do you run the control line to the cockpit or have it at the mast? Also,, if you hace juffy reefing, waht size line did you use? Thanks for the advice. John
