Kruzin Kool AC

I have seen ads for the Krusin Kool AC and am considering purchasing one for my Catalina 28. I currently have an old CruisNCarry that does not do an adequate job of cooling in very hot weather. I am looking for comments about the Krusin Kool unit and if it is used with the pump simply dropped overboard or if anyone has installed the unit.

if this is the unit I am thinking of...

it does not use a compressor, therefore it cannot remove much, if any humidity. There was a lot of discussion on the CWBB about this unit and the general consensus was it could be homebuilt for about $100.00 using heater cores, a small fan and some hoses. It might blow cooler air, but the clammy feeling would still be there.

It works

The Kruzin Kool is a 7000 btu AC unit. After using it in the suitcase for a season, I installed it on my C320. It has plenty of capacity for the mid-west summers. I doubt it would be enough for the deep south. As a suitcase unit the pump was a pain, but it is more portable and stowable than the carry-on type.JeffC
