Around these precincts it is always helpful to have both speed through the water as well as speed over ground. That gives you the tide current effect when making passage. Both have equal value. You may be viewing the GPS speed and not even have a speed transducer. GPS speed is really all you need.
I used transducer bottom paint on mine and am trying to build a habit of swapping with the blanking plug when not sailing.I wouldn't spend a lot of time searching for it as you are in sea water (salt water). The paddles are continuously being jammed with tiny threadlike growth which stops them from moving.
I have cleaned them up a few times when going on a long trip and the boat is moving every day. They stay clean that way. If they sit for more than a few days without moving, they're stuck.
Not a good idea. Anything on the paddles will knock the balance off and affect the accuracy.I used transducer bottom paint on mine
Transducer paint is only suitable for the lens of a thru-hull depth transducer.I used transducer bottom paint on mine
Is that right? Well, maybe that explains it lolNot a good idea. Anything on the paddles will knock the balance off and affect the accuracy.

Yeah, I think it's best practice to put the blank in when the boat is idle.
And here you thought you were ready for the America's Cup Race because you were showing eight knots in a light breezeIs that right? Well, maybe that explains it lol
