Kentucky Lake sailing
I have been sailing on the southern end of Kentucky Lake, where it runs into Tennessee, since January. We moved here from Georgia, a huge step up from our lake there. If you make it down this way, stick to the channel at any time other than summer pond. We had an O'Day that only drew 2'11, then sold it and got a boat that draws 4'8. We're stubbornly learning to stick to the channel. The lake also has distance races (50K, 25K) in spring and fall, out of the north end of the lake. I haven't gotten to participate yet.Oh, and look out for the barges, they ALWAYS have right of way. Email me at swartm@earthlink.net if you want to chat about the lake!-Mark Swart
