You are on the right tract, being here asking questions. There are SEVERAL items to look for when buying a 27. There are enogh C-27s out there to consider that have the updates and corrections before you buy if you can wait and have the patience to find those boats.I purchased my C-27 5 years ago and the top of the list was that it had stainless steel keel bolts. The nuts were cold rolled steel and severely corrided. It was a big enough job just changing the nuts. On two of the studs I had to make special nuts that went over the steel nuts that I could not remove. Other items to look for are back-up plates and/or eyebolts for the side shrouds. The spreaders attach to an assembly in the mast that may be aluminum; it should be stainless steel.Look through the links for the "unofficial" c-27 webpage; they list all the upgrades that need to be done. I would also recommend the diesel, if possible or at least the late model Atomic four. The atomic four is a great engine with HUGE support on the internet and from moyermarine. The C-27 is a great, safe boat. Good luck.
