Just saying hello. I am looking to purchase a 2003 310 next week if all goes well with the survey and sea trial. I don't think there will be any issues, so hopefully in a couple of weeks I will be a 310 owner.

Congratulations! Hope you enjoy and use your 310 as much as we do. We also own a 2003 model, hull #231. We just moved onto land for the winter after living aboard for 8 1/2 months, and cruising 2000 miles.

Welcome. Good luck! Went from a C-30 to the 310 this summer and I'm loving it (well I was...she's on the hard now)!! Keep us updated!

Thank you all for the welcome. I am quite pleased to be buying this boat and am very much looking forward to sailing the along emerald coast this year.

Our plan is to stay in Florida for 8 to 15 months then take the boat to the Chesapeake Bay area once I can get a transfer with my work. We have sailed Pensacola quite a bit, but the Chesapeake will be new water for us.

On the Chessy, March-May, Sept-Nov front driven systems, June, July and Aug sometimes are pretty light, but thermals can bring some good sailing as well.

Hello Neighbor

Silvio, I live in FWB also and have enjoyed our 310 since 2002. Great choice. Contact me at dreamofcs@cox.net if I can be of any help.

We are also new to the 310...hope to close on the boat this week (#222) since the survey was done this past Wednesday. Are you the person buying the other 310 in Mobile? We plan to truck our "new" boat to the FL East Coast where we currently live but are from the Panhandle (Niceville) and hope to return there someday for the great sailing. We have owned a Catalina 30, Beneteau 331 and Seaward 32 but always wanted a C-310 and now that the kids are gone we finally get "our" boat! I have the check ready to mail to the C-310 IA as soon as we close.
Thanks to everyone on the forum...it has been very helpful reading past post...I was ready at survey time:)

Hello SBinNSB,
I am the guy looking at he 310 in Mobile. We have a survey set for Friday this week. Hopefully all will go well and we should close on the boat in a week or two. We have a home in Niceville. I am returning to work there about the time we close on the boat.

NSB= New Smyrna Beach? Nice area over there, definitely warmer than Niceville this time of year.

Congrats! We are closing on our 310 this coming Monday, the 20th - I can't wait! :)
Congratulations!! I am sure that all will go well for you.

I sent a check to the broker yesterday, will probably be closing on mine as well in the next couple of weeks.

We had three problems when we closed on ours:
1) The Broker told use a personal check was fine!! Not!!!
2) When a contract is written on a vessel the owner can not use the vessel for recreational purposes, only move it to an agreed location if unforeseen circumstances arise, such as a storm. After we took possession I down loaded the tracks from the chart plotter and it show all the places the owner took the boat for their last flings, this was not cool. The motor had another 10 hours on it as well.
3) The listed equipment on the sale was different from the equipment left on the boat. We had to track the previous owner down and press them to give us what was agreed upon.
Bottom line...On the day of closing and just before you go the the table, go down to the boat and go over the equipment very carefully.

We closed Monday on hull #222 with no problems...you may see our boat getting loading on the truck at Turner Marine ready to come East if you are there Monday.

Like others the boat had cutlass bearing wear with only 139 hours on the engine...we had it replaced and the shaft alignment done just to be sure.

Can't wait to get the boat home next week and start washing the Mobile mud off of it :)

It is nice to see some boats moving on the market...

Ok you guys got me worried now! I read witzend's ordeal with shaft alignment and some other comments about the cutlass bearing needing replaced too soon on a 310.I just purchased a 2002 with 500 hrs on engine.PO said he had bearing replaced not too long ago.Lo and behold I notice a little play in the shaft.Just wondering appx percentage of you guys have had issues with bad alignment etc.

During my purchase survey for a boat with only 54 engine hours, the cutlass was shot. That bearing has lasted 400 hours after an in the water alignment with no obvious problems.
