Just purchased a 1988 Catalina 27...

Brand new to this forum.

Great boat in great condition.

Would love to learn more, to learn the pros, cons, strengths, what to look out for, what works, where to get parts, your love for these boats, etc. I am currently active on the trailer sailor forum for clipper Marine boats--just sold mine this weekend as I purchased the Catalina. Am also active in another sailboat forum, clippermarine.org--which is actually for all sailboats. check it out.

Would love some feedback.

Easy sailing boat, handles well. Engine is bulletproof. I really don't have any complaints other than the standard foot-i-tis that everyone gets as they will every nook any cranny with junk.

look at the Catalina 27 group on YahooGroups. 265 owners there with lots of information. Keep in mind that over 6,600 27's were built over a 20 year span and there some differences between years. Always a good idea to state in posts what year model you have.

I have a '88 27' and sail the Chesapeake Bay. It is my first boat altough I chartered a few. I love it but with anything else that is 20+ years old there is maintenance & up keep. Enjoy it!
