When I was a kid about a hundred years ago, we lived in Panama. My dad kept a Westerly Windrush at the Balboa Yatch Club. This is where I gained most of my sailing experience.Anyway the Balboa Yatch Club is located on the Pacific side of the ishmus, right on the canal channel. The boats are on moorings because there is just a exstream tide range. Needless to say when a ship would pass by the boats would rock and roll in their wakes. Once while my dad was changing the engine oil (volvo penta) he had drained the old oil out of the crankcase and had set the bucket of oil on one of the cockpit seats. Well you can see where I am going with this, a ship passed, we started to roll about and next thing my dad knew he was wearing a bucket of hot oil on his head. I had to go below I was laughing so hard. You know the kind where your stomach starts to ache. In the mean time my dad started to throw all his wrenchs over the side.
