A lot has been done in 3 weeks. New halyards, jib furler rerigged, newer out outboard. Evicted wasps from the BBQ grill today and hope to be sailing her next weekend.

She's going to need a new name, after the last couple of weekends "Sweat Equity" seems apropos.

Wow the clean up job you did is amazing! What does the interior look like? Did you get your test sail in yet?

Going to install a new Bimini top this weekend. I'll post photos next week.

The interior is roomy for a 26' boat. Previous owner had recovered the cushions a few years ago and replaced the bulkheads.

The work you are doing and the speed at which you are getting it done is amazing! IMHO I think O'Day's are some of the best boats out there. And i have a special preference for the 26! I let a near perfect one get away last summer, and then thinking it had sold, missed out on a second chance getting her! At 14,000 last year I felt the price was high. It sold for 11,400 in the early summer. (near new condition, owned by a true sailer including a new highway rated trailer for the boat)

How I kick myself now over her! If anyone knows of any 26's coming on the market and are accessible to Toronto/lLake Simcoe/Georgian bay. Let me know

I agree 14,000 (US Dollars?) would be overpriced, heck I'd probably take half that for my Oday 26 today!

What do you think a well equipped, in excellent condition, with trailer would be worth? By well equipped I mean inboard motor, rolling furling, jiffy reeling, easy jack, head, holding tank, deck pump out, multi 12 volt batteries, inboard motor charging, shore power, shore power cable, shore power outlets, wind, speed & depth, auto pilot, full galley, pressure water, water tank, multi-sail inventory......

Well equipped and excellent condition as you mentioned? In today's market that might mean $8k to $12k depending on location. The Oday 26's seem to command a decent price being one of the last models make before O'day closed up shop. Has the inboard motor been rebuilt? Has the boat been surveyed?

Be sure you look at plenty of boats before you buy and take lots of time looking at every facet of the boat before you buy.

Installed a new Bimini on our O'day 26' this weekend. We selected a sunbrella fabric top from Overtons. While it fits as planned and provides good shade, I'm not happy that two of the bows were missing. They shipped the missing parts in time for the weekend install. During assembly I found a fitting misaligned so we had to drill out a rivet and realign one of the front bow brackets. For what we saved buying
a stock size Bimini, I guess I shouldn't complain too much but...what a pain!

The finished results look decent. We disconnected the backstay and ran it thru a reinforced slit in the top that we measured after installation. The dimensions are 6' long, 6' wide and 46" high. The Bimini is mounted on the coaming about halfway 24" aft of the winches. When it's stowed we simply lash it to the backstay. Headroom is about 5'10". I should have taken more photos, I'll take more and post them soon.

We've arrived at a new name for the boat and her tender, borrowed from this poem;

by Robert Frost

No speed of wind or water rushing by
But you have speed far greater. You can climb
Back up a stream of radiance to the sky,
And back through history up the stream of time.
And you were given this swiftness, not for haste
Nor chiefly that you may go where you will,
But in the rush of everything to waste,
That you may have the power of standing still-
Off any still or moving thing you say.
Two such as you with such a master speed
Cannot be parted nor be swept away
From one another once you are agreed
That life is only life forevermore
Together wing to wing and oar to oar
