I have a rope/wire jib halyard on my 1972 oday 22 that has seen its better days, do I need to stay with rope/wire or can I just go to all rope. All i am doing is cruising with it so i dont think this should be an issue but just want to make sure.
All you need is 5/16" Sta-Set X for the halyard just as long as it fits through the sheave you're good to go. If it doesn't fit the sheave I would would change the sheave. Personally I don't like wire/rope for anything on a boat and I'd do away with it if I had it.just saw rudy last week to get some stays hes a great guy. The main reason I asked is a have a family member that used to work for NE Rope and have enough sta-set to rig the boat twice lol
