Who comes up with this crap? I have had small propane bottles in my house for forty years. When I pull one it is still full. If it leaked it would have long since been empty.
Same here Scot. It's happened several times. I now leave the regulator attached. The untapped bottle seem to store fine indefintely.Last year when I removed the regulator and the valve stuck open. Put the regulator back on and left it on until I used up the propane.
So, yes they do fail.
More on the order of 250 psi.keeping it in a bag is not going to stop the leak, they are what 1500 psi?
it only keeps them clean from rust.
inside a 4" pvc pipe mounted outside the boat is the elegant way small boaters carry propane bottles.
