I have a Macgregor Venture 21. It has been setting in front of my house for about two weeks now (I live on the west side of Akron Ohio) as I get it ready to splash. Thursday night (the day before trash day) and around 10pm we get a knock on the door from woman who wanted to know if we were getting rid of the boat. I ask her if they were looking to buy a boat and as I looked out her husband was positioning the van to hook up to the boat (even though I have a hitch lock). The woman replied , no we just wanted to know if you were getting rid of your boat. Now I know I am going to get some on the board who will express your disdain for Macgregor sail boats, but I was seething mad and a little paranoid afterward that some one would take one of the only things in the world that I really don't mind working on (I hope all would agree that you would rather work on your boat than your everyday job, your job, your car, etc...). I actually had to hold my tongue to the sweet little lady who in collusion with her husband was ready to haul the only sailboat I own away. I would hope even as scrap I would be able to get something out of the boat as apposed to nothing. Now that I think about it, this was no lady, this was some sub-human sent to open up a can of shanty Irish American whup @$$ and she retreated back to her partner in dilllusional fantasy once she cracked it open and got a whif of my anger. Maybe I was being punked. Has anyone ever had anything like this happen to them?
