Suggest you provide a second circuit

I do not know what those references say so this may be repeating something. If your inverter is a Heart inverter / charger which automatically switches itself, I suggest that you might want to wire a second AC circuit which bypasses the inverter. I had one fail on me once and it was a lot more difficult to work on the boat at the dock since no AC was available as it all came out of the inverter which was broken.

Also try Xantrex they have their manuals posted online with wiring diagrams from the installation book. Do a google on statpower, too. I reemmber donloading the whole manual when I helped a friend put his in. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll email it to you. If you're putting in a separate inverter you MUST use a Blue Seas 8032 switch, or equivalent. It keeps the inverter power separate from the incoming AC so you can't ever use both at the same time. Re Patrick's suggestion: It would be relatively easy to switch the power back on if the Heart I/C charger fails (I have one), because I wired the AC through a terminal block, which simply means having to switch three wires. Sure, you could do it with a switch, but it would certainly have to be either well hidden, or well marked to avoid "the brother-in-law" syndrome heard many times about the 1-2-Both switches. :)
