How do people route their cables from intruments mounted on a wheel pedestal? Is it best to try and run the cables throught the pedestal guard, the pedestal itself or through a separate bulkhead connector in the floor? Thanks in advance. Steve

Pedestal wires

My instruments are mounted in a Navpod on the pedestal guard. So, the wires are routed through a drilled hole in the guard (includes a grommet for chafe protection) and then down through the guard foot into the cabin. I have heard of just drilling a hole in the pedestal itself for routing wires down through the pedestal, for instruments or radios mounted closer to the pedestal (like a RAM mike for the VHF). Whichever method is fine which produces a cleaner installation.
