Instrument lights not working?

We took the Stargazer out for our first night sail last night. It was a gorgeous evening for a sail.

Noticed some minor issues while out. Biggest was the lack of lighting on the binnacle instruments. I got the yanmar pannel lights to work with a switch on the pannel, but the depth meter, knot meter, and compass remained dark. I tried the running lights steaming lights, and anchor lights, and none of the instruments lit. Does anyone know how to acces the wiring and bulbs for these? Which breaker are these normally wired into? I have not disassembled these yet, and want to know what I am getting into.

Additionally, my steaming light worked great on the way out, but would not turn back on when we restarted the engine for the trip through the ICW back to our dock. The anchor light has not worked since we have had her, and is on my list of projects. I am hoping this is a bulb issue, and not mast wiring.

Running lights had an open short in the forward cabin, (bad splice) that I fixed months ago, and they worked well.

If Raymarine did you try holding the button? I think lower left buttons for each instrument, maybe on/off button.

Other lights: it is probably corrosion. You need to get up the mast and clean the contacts on the bulbs and brackets.

Yup holding down left button for Raymarine display for couple seconds activates lights function. Then toggle it to scroll through level of brightness L0, L1, L2 and L3.

She is a 1983, and has Datamarine pedestal mount speed/depth instruments. I went back yesterday, and found a switch on the side of the pedestal that turns them on, but I only get a light from my nonworking knot meter (needs a new paddlewheel). The depth meter, and compass do not light. has anyone replaced the bulbs in theirs, and how difficult was it?

I think you just destroyed your lovely wife's night vision for at least the next hour with the shot!

I did, so she made me take the wheel from her, and got a refreshment.
