I am going to be making my first alterations to my new 240. I would like to install a swingarm mount just inside the companionway so that my GPS/FishFinder unit can swing into the companion way opening under sail. I am thinking that to add strength I would install the mount to a piece of wood that is attached to the bulkhead wall. I plan to use adhesive on the wood, but I want to also install some type of screws or bolts to add strenght to the mount. Simple wood style screws typically used or is there a way to install nut/bolt?Project #2 is to cut through for a compass mount (a backup if GPS down). Is that as simple as drilling a hole to start and then using jig saw to cut opening?Any comments /advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
