Check Tucson
Russ, as you have probably found, none of the inflatables are serviced in San Carlos, or Guaymas. Tucson is your nearest spot, and I question whether any of the quality manufacturers are represented there, either. Of course, a good inflatable should need little service. Most repairs you can do yourself. San Diego is probably going to be your source. Most of the companies are represented there, and Downwind Marine could give you some good advice. To Steve's list, I would add Tinker and Apex. The later is a very well made inflatable from Costa Rica, I think, and is more boat for the money than some others. Having had extensive personal experience with Achilles, Avon, and Tinker, I personally would rate the Achilles as most trouble free (with the exception of one memorable model year) and best value, and the Tinker as most useful and fun, all around and most expensive. Avon is the old industry standard, and I have one right now with an inflatable floor, but it is no better than the other two, if as good. By the way Avon is now owned by Zodiac, although they claim there will be no bad consequences as a result....we will see...Zodiac has always been the hands down industry leader in ludicrous customer relations and phantom warranties. Good Luck. And get Hypalon!
